So, which team or program do you think is above any other in the PSAL?

There are many different strategies coaches use to score against a 2-3 or 2-1-2 zone. But I was curious to know what people think is the best way to attack.

My personal favorite is dribble penetration because it can lead to:
A) an esasy layup
B) An open outside shot (kickoff)
C)Layup opportunity for the big men
D) Off. Reb'd opportunity-more people near the basket.

What do you think?

Will Peekskill go Undefeated?

With only about 1 month remaining in the regular season, there seems to be one team that has a shot to do something that rarelly occurs in High School Basketball, or any sport at any level.

Go Undefeated.

So far, lead by Sr. Forward Mookie Jones and So. Guard Brickhouse, their performance has been impressive, not only being 14-0, but having beaten teams such as White Plains, Albany Academy, Poughkeepsie, and other top Section 1 programs in doing so.

So, I pose this question to you ...

UNC interested in Sherrod Wright?

A lot of speculation about UNC coach Roy Williams being courtside at MSG during the Mount Vernon-Patterson Catholic game. Rumor is that one of the players he was scouting is Mt. Vernon Junior forward Sherrod Wright, who has already received serious D1 interest from schools in the Big East (I.E. Pitt, St Johns).

Top Games of the Week

Okay, here are my top games of the week in Section 1.

1. Mt Vernon @ White Plains - Wednesday, January 9th, 4:15pm.

Classic battle between long-time division rivals. Also featuring 2 of the best players in section 1 face up against another 2 of the best (Sherrod Wright and Kevin Jones for Mt Vernon and Rashad James and Sean Kilpatrick for White Plains). Its hard to imagine anybody from the section winning at Mt Vernon or even on a neutral court, but given the packed house that White ...
